Behind Vol. 09.
The most surprising thing about Vol. 09 is what isn\’t in it. We saw four hundred pieces this season. Eighty-four made the cut.
I drove to Como twice in March, took the train to Antwerp once, and spent the better part of a week in Florence at Casa Livia\’s workshop watching their oldest stitcher finish a tote that we now sell. The piece took her four and a half hours. We sell it for €1,100 and the margin is honest.
This edition leans heavier on outerwear than any we\’ve published. Maison Aurelle gave us first look at three coats from their A/W run; we took two. Beau Cygne and Élan Paris brought their evening pieces, but Vol. 09 favours the daytime — a quieter season, by design.
If you read only one chapter, read the second. Italian leather, in 2026, deserves a defence. Casa Livia is making it.
Six chapters. Read in order.
The wool coat,
reconsidered.
This season\’s edit returns to the coat. Not the loud, ankle-grazing camel of every street style feed — but the precisely cut, deeply tonal piece that hangs on a chair as well as a body. Maison Aurelle\’s Forest cut leads. Beneath it, restraint.
"A coat is the only piece you wear over everything. Make it the best thing you own."
— Aurélie Vasseur, Maison Aurelle
Italian leather,
still.
Casa Livia\’s Florentine workshop has trained three generations of leather artisans. The bags they make age — they don\’t expire. We\’ve taken eight pieces from this season\’s run; we\’ll have ten next time, perhaps fewer. Quality first, scale never.
"Every bag we make should still be wearable in twenty years. If it can\’t be, we shouldn\’t make it."
— Lorenzo Livia, Casa Livia
Quiet jewellery,
worn daily.
Hoops you\’ll forget you have on. Pendants that catch the right light. Saint Selected — our house line — works with two ateliers in Vicenza on solid 925 silver and 18K gold vermeil. Designed for women who already have everything else.

moment.
Milano Forma\’s slingback is the shoe we\’ve sold the most of this year. Not because it\’s loud — because it isn\’t. A 65mm heel, a sharp toe, a narrow strap. Three colours, two leathers, six sizes. The complete answer to "what shoes go with everything?"

Not theatrical.
Élan Paris and Beau Cygne return with column silhouettes in silk and bias-cut satin. Pieces engineered for the dress code that doesn\’t quite have a name — the dinner that isn\’t a gala, the launch that isn\’t a party. We\’ve selected for restraint.
