A — Z
Three rules.
Said no more often than yes.
We see roughly four hundred designers each season. Twelve to fifteen make the edit. The rule isn\’t commercial — it\’s craft. Below, the questions our buyers actually ask before saying yes.
Will this piece improve with time?
Trend-driven garments fail this test on day one. We ask whether the fabric, the construction and the silhouette will hold up after a hundred wears. Most don\’t. The houses we carry know which mills to trust.
Does the maker know their supply chain?
If a designer can\’t name the mill, the tannery and the workshop, we walk. The houses on our list can introduce you to the people who actually make their pieces — by name.
Is this a piece our team would buy?
The clearest filter. We don\’t carry pieces our buyers wouldn\’t wear themselves. This sounds simple. In practice it eliminates ninety percent of the market — which is why our edit is small.
